Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge

Intrepid cyclists, Jim Bretherton, James Clarke, Richard Millar and Mark Wildish (aka The Wrea Green Wheelers) successfully completed a Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge over two days in September, 2016 and raised a fantastic £1,000 for the Foundation.

They set off early one Saturday morning and cycled from Lytham to York on day one passing through Longridge, Bolton-by-Bowland and Linton where they stopped for a Yorkshire Tapas Lunch kindly supplied by Chris and Natalie at The Fountaine Inn. Once re-fuelled they headed for Patley Bridge and Ripon before completing 117 miles and arriving in York. On Day two they rode from York to Bridlington where they enjoyed some well earned Fish ‘n’ Chips having cycled a total of 175 miles over the two days.

Congratulations to ‘The Wheelers’ and thanks from the Foundation for your donation.

Some more pictures from the ride can be found on our Facebook Page.

Anne Hubbard

Committee member Anne Hubbard sadly passed away in August, 2016. She joined the committee shortly after the Foundation’s creation and had known Richard as he was a fellow rugby player, and friend, of her grandson Jason.

Anne threw herself into various roles on the committee and managed to obtain some fantastic auction and raffle prizes which contributed to the Charity raising in excess of £100,000.

She worked tirelessly with a passion for 16 years on the Foundation’s behalf and her contribution was immense. The Chairman and committee members are deeply indebted to Anne for everything that she did and she will be greatly missed.

If you would like to make a donation to the Foundation, please make a cheque out to
