It is with great sadness that we announce that one of our founding members of The Richard J Wilson Sports Foundation, Alan Greening has passed away on Tuesday 12th January 2021.  Alan, his late wife Lindsay and our late brother in law, David Lyon formed the Sports Foundation in 2000 in memory of our son Richard following his tragic death aged 19 years. A few years after the inception the Foundation became a registered Charity going from strength to strength , thanks in part to Alan.

Alan was a lovely man, caring greatly about the progress and well being of the Charity, he always brought new ideas to the table In order to fund raise monies for the children who applied for grants. Alan was well known in Wrea Green and was one of the last remaining “great characters” in the village. He will be greatly missed.

The Committee send their heartfelt condolences to Alan’s children, Andrew and Helen and their immediate families.
